On the 21st of May 2021 my great aunts were converted from martyrs to beatas. The pain of their final moments on the 28th of October of 1936 (during the Spanish Civil War) was honored and glorified. The three nurses of the red cross had already been granted martyrdom, not only for having died for and in the name of Christ, but also for the miracles they seemed to have performed after their death. Octavia’s, Pilar’s and Olga's spirit remained so present in the collective memory of Astorga that it is said that those who prayed for them were cured from their illnesses.
